Description |
Brio (brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1% contains brinzolamide, an inhibitor of carbonic anhydrase II. Following topical ocular administration, brinzolamide inhibits aqueous humor formation and reduces elevated intraocular pressure. |

Indications |
Brio (brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1% is indicated in the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma |

Dosage |
The recommended dose is one drop of Brio (brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1% in the affected eye(s) three times daily. If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered at least ten (5) minutes apart. |

Contraindications |
Brio brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1% is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product |

Precautions |
Pregnanacy
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Brio (brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1% should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Nursing Mothers
It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk and because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from Brio (brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension) 1%, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother. |

Adverse Effects |
The most frequently reported adverse reactions have been burning, stinging, ocular irritation, and conjunctival hyperemia. Blood dyscrasias, allergic or inflammatory reactions due to individual hypersensitivity, angioneurotic edema, urticaria, vesicular and macula papular dermatitis have also been reported |
