Description |
Tobramycin is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic active against a wide variety of gram-negative and gram-positive ophthalmic pathogens. Tobramycin is a drug of choice in corneal ulcers & in pseudomonas infections. Tobramycin inhibits the protein synthesis of bacterias. |

Indications |
Nebracin is a topical antibiotic indicated in the treatment of external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria. |

Dosage |
Eye drops
In mild to moderate infection, instill one or two drops into the affected eye(s) every four hours.
In severe infections, instill 2 drops into the eyes hourly until improvement following which treatment should be reduced prior to discontinuation.
Eye ointment
Apply a small ribbon (half inch) of Nebracin ointment into the affected eye(s) 1 to2 times a day or as directed by the physician. |

Contraindications |
Nebracin ophthalmic solution is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of their components. |

Adverse Reactions |
The most frequent adverse reactions to Nebracin ophthalmic solution are localized ocular toxicity and hypersensitivity including lid itching and swelling and conjunctival erythema.
