Description |
Hyprosol is a visco elastic , high molecular weight , non inflammatory non allergic and non carcinogenic. The effectiveness of Hyprosol as an adjunct in ophthalmic surgery is the result of its visco elastic properties. The viscous nature of Hyprosol provides mechanical protection for cell layers such as the corneal endothelium and other tissues which are exposed to mechanical damage during surgery. The elastic deformations of Hyprosol also absorb mechanical stress and thereby provide a protective buffer for the tissues.
Hyprosol does not flow out of the open anterior chamber and therefore a deep chamber is maintained during surgical manipulation. Because Hyprosol is visco elastic , it is a useful tool for gently maneuvering tissues into desired position.
Hyprosol facilitates the operative procedures and reduces surgical complications in both intracapsular and extracapsular lens extraction by maintaining anterior chamber depth and minimizing irido-vitreal bulge. The corneal endothelium is coated and protected which is most important in any surgery of anterior segment of eye |
