Description
Chloramphenicol is broad spectrum antibiotic; inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and Hydrocortisone is a steroid reduces inflammation by inhibiting the inflammatory mediators.
Indications
Chlorosun-H is indicated for ocular infection & inflammation (uveitis, allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis, scleritis, iridocyclitis, non-ulcerous keratitis)
Dosage
A small amount of eye ointment is applied to the lower lid, 1-3 times daily depending on the severity of the infection
Contraindications
Chlorosun-H is contraindicated in patients having hypersentivity to any of the ingredient of the formulation
Precautions
Pregnanacy
Chlorosun-H should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Nursing Mothers
It is not known whether topical ophthalmic Chlorosun-H administration could result in sufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable quantities in breast milk. Caution should be exercised when Chlorosun-H is administered to nursing mothers.
Pediatric Use
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients below the age of 2 years have not been established.
Geriatric Use
No overall difference in safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly and younger, adult patients.
